Yoga and Trail Running Retreat Turkey 2015

What a terrific week! Thank you to my wonderful group, who as usual on these retreats, got along so well and ended up making some great friends.

We stayed at the beautiful Yuva Eco Lodge, down on a secluded peninsula on the south coast of Turkey, where we spent 7 nights dwelling in the cabins or cottages amongst the pine trees.

Each day began at 8am, up on the yoga deck where I led a warming dynamic yoga class, followed by a delicious breakfast.

We took to some great trails – ranging from rugged coastal forest pathways to high mountain rocky roads. This year we had a range of abilities, with some guests choosing to walk rather than run, but all enjoying the routes whether fast or slow. We were welcomed on return with lunch and the chance to explore or relax.

I taught the main yoga class of the day in the early evening, which focussed on relengthening the muscles, realigning the hips and spine, and relaxing. Each class was different – to reflect the run from the day, to show the variety that yoga can offer, and to take a different anatomical focus – such as releasing tension in the hips and hamstrings or in the neck and shoulders.

Our evenings were full of more amazing food, stunning sunsets and good conversation, before turning in for an early night, ready to make the most of the next day.
