Yuva Eco Holiday Centre is a very special place, nestled between the pine trees beside the sea, away from everyone – it is quiet, idyllic and breathtakingly beautiful. Walking through the 7 acres of forest scents of mint, sage, rosemary and wild flowers waft on the cool sea breeze. Here was my base for a week on a walking and yoga retreat, organised by Vegi Ventures, and everything was better than I expected. Yes, the accommodation is basic but it is absolutely everything you need, the walks were really challenging – tramping through forests, scaling cliffs, steep ascents and descents, which to me means great fun! The scenery, well it blew me away. I did not know what to expect, having never visited Turkey, but the vistas revealed on each twist and turn of the coastal trails were stunning. The food, three meals a day – which was all vegetarian and vegan, was delicious and gave me lots of inspiration for my own cooking. And the staff were lovely, helpful, informative and outgoing – in addition to delivering wonderful restorative yoga sessions and leading the walking routes, they were always ready for singing and dancing! I look forward to my Trail Running and Yoga retreat held 2 miles away at the sister resort the Faralya Hotel this October for some more of the same.
